Framingham,
MA (May 20, 2002): Image Data Inc. of Framingham, Massachusetts was honored
today by the New England Chapter of the Association for Information and
Image Management (AIIM) for their many years of support at the Annual
Golf Benefit. Now in its seventh year, New England-area information and
imaging management professionals tee up to support the Horace Mann School
for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Allston section of Boston, Massachusetts.
Image Data has repeatedly shown their support for the Horace Mann School
at the benefit held at the Georgetown Golf and Country Club in Georgetown,
Massachusetts. Senior Vice President of Image Data, Thomas Bourke, remarked,
"This event is a fulfilling occasion to help a pioneer in the field
of education for the deaf and hard of hearing while having a chance to
gather with colleagues for a day on the green."
The Horace Mann School has a rich history of providing quality education
for deaf and hard of hearing students. Strengthened by associations with
historical figures such as Alexander Graham Bell and Helen Keller, the
Horace Mann School has been educating children and youth for over 130
years. From birth to age 22, students benefit from Horace Mann's comprehensive
services, including full evaluations and support services. The school
follows the same standards and curriculum frameworks as other Boston Public
Schools and has an outstanding record of achievement.
The Seventh Annual Golf Benefit brings together the school's business
partners in an effort to raise needed resources to continue the school's
success and to support continued progress. Participation in this benefit
offers not only a day of golf, but provides an opportunity for business
and community leaders to support the advancement of the education of Deaf
and Hard of Hearing students.
Funds raised by the Golf Benefit are targeted for the advancement of the
school's forward-looking Technology Plan. Since the first Golf Benefit,
technology has been advanced to benefit all students and staff. In 2001,
the Horace Mann School moved to a paperless system in managing daily operations.
The school recently developed a new and ambitious technology plan to ensure
universal access for all students and to remain current in this rapidly
changing field.
